Nostalgic Friday - 1

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Haven’t watch this movie. Don’t think I will. But this song certainly caught my attention. Forget about the scenes, just close your eyes and listen to this beat!

And hell no! It has NOTHING to do with my previous post.

Movie: Deepavali
Song: Pogathe pogathe

Get real man!

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I’m sick of people trying their level best to betray you at every point
of time. I’m sick and I’m tired of the antic. You know, when people
whom you think are remorseful of their act, and trying to get things
right and you-know-what were merely acting in front of you - its
absolutely disgusting. And these people actually think they able to get
away with this, just because we are being ‘nice’ and ’sweet’ and most
important of all ‘forgiving’. I cannot be nice all the time. I cannot
be sweet all the time. And again, most importantly I cannot be
forgiving all the time.

I have a life here, and I want to live
too. If someone is thinking that I am gonna be hanging around just
because I am forgiving and loving, that someone can go to hell! If
someone is thinking that I am ‘tergila-gila’ about
the person for all this while and I will continue to do so, just
because I am forgiving and loving, again that someone can go to hell!

How
many times would a person can stand humiliation after humiliation? How
many times a sane person can suffer betrayal after betrayal? How many
times should this person forgive others thinking that things will turn
better next time? How many times would that person stand being
mistreated? And how many times are you gonna do this?

There is
an article send to me by a friend. I’m publishing few lines from there.
May be it arrived a little too late. But now I am having it right in
front of me, in my cubicle. I am gonna read this everyday from now on.
And tell you what.. that someone can just go to hell!

Do not make him into a quasi-god.
He is a man nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behaviour.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that’s not meant to be.
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can’t “be friends”.
A friend wouldn’t mistreat a friend.
Don’t settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don’t stay because you think “it will get better”.
You’ll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not

*tergila-gila = mad about

** This post is written with reference to my blogspot (www.tulipspeaks.blogspot.com)

This blog has been under alot of pressure and severe harassment ever since it was created, by none other than me, the author :P

What
started as a simple blog holding scribblings of my daily activities
(and complains) transformed itself to a complex bloggie over the time
period. Remember the red blinking background and the scrolling profile
pictures of my blogmates? Now its back to basic! My blog buddy list has
been replaced with Google Reader.
It lists only current updates. So you update your bloggie, you
automatically got listed in it. Fair enough? Besides that, I added
MyBlogLog’s widget: Recent Readers.
It lists down the recent visitors of the blog/profile via mybloglog.
The trick is you have to be a member of that site to get listed here.
The header is now being kept to the minimum. Simplicity is the best
nah? Apart from that, the Shoutbox, my flickr and list of other projects stays where they always been.

Many
have asked for the templates that I use. I never ever remove any
credits of the original designers. So, you may wanna explore their
collections by clicking the links (usually at the footer). As for your
info, I love Pannasmontata Template.
You’ll find neat work there. Most of the time, I use templates from
there but i normally will customize the images, colours and some time
the side bars. You may also find thousands of blog templates in BlogSkin.

Now
this post begining to sound like a sponsored post! Hahaha.. Well, I
just wanna write something about TS in TS! :P Ended up giving a review
instead. Anyway, this is my 215th post. Not so say its a significant
number, but its always me asking you guys questions etc. Of course this
is my bloggie and I may write what I want to, but this time I would
like to open the floor for a Q&A session (sounds formal, i know..).
Previously I did this once as a tag, and I restricted the questions to
one per person and requested for no sensitive question to be asked.
This time, there will be no such restriction. You may ask any question you like, and I will try my best to answer.

Have
a wonderful weekend.

Temples and I

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Cimg0953I always loved temples. A place for me to forget about the rest of the
world. Never
liked famous crowded temples though. For me, temple is
place where silence prevails; where you lose yourself completely in
serene surrounding to be one with God; where you talk to your inner
self without disturbance.

I grew up in a temple but lately
(which means 10 years), I stopped visit temples often. I don’t know
why, but I just lost the touch I had with temples. I do pray, although
I confine myself to the prayer altar at home. Yea God is everywhere,
but it is always different when you visit what is suppose to be Her
home.

I long to set my foot in a temple again. Tomorrow is a
Friday - a special day dedicated to Her. May be its the day I can pay
Her a visit :)…after a long time.

Who am I to you?

Monday, March 19th, 2007

To some…
I’m an open book

To some…
I’m a mystery

To some…
I’m a babe

To some…
I’m just another gal.

Who am I to you?

I was away

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

and thanks for the mails, offliners and msgs.

Truly sorry to
take an abrupt break, I did what I had to do. Not to say that the break
answered ALL of my doubts and confusion, but it gave me some time to
think over some important issues. Anyway, I was already making a slow
come back since last Friday-some might have noticed me on and off in
Gtalk, YM, Friendster and some forums.

I missed discussing some stuff during my short break. Here a summary of them in random order:

We won!
Malaysian
doubles won the All-England title after 25 years! Oh my!!! Though I
regret that the online community being so naive to this achievement, I
am not letting it to deny a celebration. Badminton may not be as
glamorous as football, but its a game I enjoy. And the final our team
gave that day was truly energetic! Given that the pair is still very
young, I predict them to grab the world title in a short period of
time.

The liars!
Hahaha..
we, the women bloggers have been branded as liars and unemployed!
Amazingly I didn’t get angry when I first read about this news. I found
it rather hilarious. Dumb people tend to say dumb things nah? Can’t
help it.

Malaysian
Minister for Tourism, Tengku Adnan was reported by Sin Chew (9 March
07, Early Evening edition pp 5) to have said the following:

“Bloggers
are liars. They use all sort of ways to cheat others. From what I know,
out of 10,000 unemployed bloggers, 8,000 are women.

“Bloggers
like to spread rumours, they don’t like national unity. Today our
country has achievements because we are tolerant and compromising.
Otherwise we will have civil war. Malays will kill Chinese, Chinese
will kill Malays, Indians will kill everybody else.”

You may wanna read more about it HERE.
Of course after few days, he retracted his words and said he was aiming
it to ONE particular blogger, not all bloggers. Then I wonder how he
can come up with a statistics when he was mentioning only about ONE
blogger.

Horny disgusting creepy fella in the Net
Okie..
now, take this as a threat or an announcement or whatever. But if I get
any more flirtatious messages from any of the social network website I
am in
or via email or via sms, I’m gonna publish everything that you said (including your screen name and e-mail add, and if available your photo) here in tulipspeaks, and tell the world how disgusting you are. Don’t play the fool with me!

celebrating women

Yea guys (and gals).. 8th March is International Women’s Day, and what can be more ‘international’ than blog-o-sphere?

At
times, we rant about life. At times, about boys (or is it guys :P). At
times, at ridiculous rules and regulations aimed at women. At times
…. just about anything.

Here I present a list of women
bloggers who have made some differences in my life (in random order of
course). I knew most of them from the my early days in the blogworld.

Keshi - she is my darling. need i say more about this gal from Sydney?

Michelle - a teen blogger from Pune. Pretty chick! reminds me of myself when i was (ahem) her age.

Deepa - quite a thinker. hope she will blog more often though :) missing ya dear!

Rathna (White forest) - a blogger from Bangalore. another blogger i wish to see more often here.

Visithra
- fellow blogger from Malaysia. MIA at the moment but i’m sure she
would bounce back soon. a avid photographer. and i just love her bindis.

Uttsy - an optimistic. never met someone as positive minded as her.

She shines
- by right, this gal should not be in the list.. lolz.. my lil sis.

Praveen
- another Malaysian blogger whom later i found out to be from my uni.
and we never have met before in real before landing in each other’s
blog here. ironic eh? :)

Loon gal
- a really really pretty chick from London! :P

Priya
- someone still new to me but i can sense that this gal is another
strong-willed and sensible person. well.. she makes sense most of the
time.

Princess Aiz - i just love her poems.. don’t you?

Seema
- just like Priya, I’m still getting to know her. and just like Princess Aiz, she just too good in writing poems!

my wish list..

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

has nothing in it.

Not because I am not wishing for anything, but I just want to stop asking. Stop expecting. Stop hoping. Stop wishing.

Everytime
when I even attempt to ask for something, my hope usually shatters. But
unexpected happens. Am I asking for something impossible? Or simply
because I don’t deserve things? But again, is there anything impossible?

Not
to brag, but I have done what I can for people I know. In fact for
people I barely know. I have tried my best to help, to listen and to
give suggestion. I have gone in great length, even by sacrificing my
own time and need for others. I put the others first before me. I could
never say no. But now, I feel all I have done is to push myself down.
Pushed it to a lowest point possible in terms of priority. It is not
fair if I expect everyone to make me happy all the time. Thats pretty
difficult. I know. But that is the task I did. Not that everyone is
happy with me or what I have done. But I have done what I can for them.
Isn’t it fair to expect the same thing in return?

Disappointments only made me to think and to forgo any expectation I still have. I have stopped wishing.

The
first time I am incorporating some tulips in my wallpaper. Ironic that
I never thought of tulips in the wallpapers all this while. May be its
time to be selfish :)

I love books! oh no.. I’m crazy about them! not particularly the lovely
dovely novels gals love to read over a cup of hot coffee. my fav also
includes non-fictions. Now that I’m trying to learn Photoshop, I’ve
been borrowing considerable number of related titles from the library.
And some statistical books as well. oh yea, forget to mention medical
books! just wanna maximize my stay in this university. hahahaha..

Talking
about library, its heaven on earth for me. the smell of books - old and
new.23959105
the quiet atmosphere. the clean tables. I just love everything and
anything about libraries. I was a librarian when i was still schooling
- only to be close to the books! selfish eh? :P I was used to be
crazier (compared to now) when I was in school. I basically read
everything readable. I don’t have any fav authors or titles. I remember
reading dictionaries - page by page. There have been instances when I
sat at the bus stop for hours just to finish the book I just borrowed.
and yes, I came home very very late that day. can still remember my
mom’s grumbles.

Old
habits die hard nah? I’m still crazy about books, if not more crazy. I
don’t how many people have a copy of Federal Constitution, but I have
one which now looks in a deplorable condition ;) I make it a point to
wander around in my fav bookstore in a shopping mall here, whenever i
can. Book rental stores, second hand bookshops, exhibitions (small or
huge) and libraries also sometimes become my second home.

I will have my very own library one day. A huge one of course.

So what your fascination is about?
