Nostalgic Friday - 5

A brilliant short-film on child sex abuse. I just
can’t bring myself to write anything about it at this point. What would
you say about it?

Thinking Blogger Award

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

I’m in a goodie goodie mood! :)))) Don’t ask me why. Just like that.
*shy*

Anyway, Mahen has awarded (or is it tagged) me with Thinking Blogger Award.
Whatever it is, I am truly honoured - not only for an award, also for
branding me as someone who thinks! Hahahahaha.. jokes apart, I think
this is a tag worth taking and worth tagging others!

Its
quite hard to select only 5 bloggers out of so many talented bloggers.
Simply put, everyone listed in my Google Reader are there for a reason
- for making my day. Thus everyone deserves an award each ;).

Nevertheless,
we got to make our choices and give some respect to this guy who came
up with this idea nah? So my pretty fives are:

*roll the drums please*

1. Keshi’s Viva Forever

No surprises here. Sexy darling’s posts on men (ahem) and current issue will make ANYONE to think.

2. Pria’s What Happens if I Don’t Blog

Someone
who is still new to me, but I love the way she writes about current
issues, and issues that are close to heart. Her ability to find photos
which completes her amazing posts! Worth your read.

3. Prady’s Endless Chasm

I’m
suppose to co-author his blog..oppss! The time has not come yet for me
to write a post in Endless Chasm. Sorry eh Prady. One of the reason why
I keep putting it on hold will be my inability to match his writings.
You got to read his blog to know what exactly I mean. :)

4. Princess Aiz’a Lively Nature & Lovely Nature

Pretty
gal who writes wonderful poems. Poems that inspire and will lead us to
the beauty of the nature. I do wonder how someone could give such deep
thoughts to nature which if often neglected.

5. Ghost Particle’s Human Universe

Sometimes
his writings are just too complicated for me to understand, though I
don’t think his chatting are that complicated. :P His posts have deep
meaning and can make anyone to think. Though I don’t comment there
pretty often, but I do read the posts.

Should
you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules
to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to
include them with the meme.

The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

That
was that! Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative
content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking!

Kiss
Saturday, 21st April 2007 will mark my second year in the blogworld. The first post
(read on your own risk :P), like I always say was posted out of
frustration. No substance. No humour. No nothing. May be that’s why I
called it ==my diary== back
in 2005. Now this is no longer a diary, and what is written here no
longer ranting without substance. I was wandering around in the
blogworld without knowing what to do, now I have every reason to stay
for even longer. I met so many friends here - some have since left and
some still staying with me. But everyone has a story to tell. I have
learnt a lesson or two from you guys. and most important of all, I
found back something I thought I have lost forever - my smile.

Thank  you all for staying put with tulipspeaks. muuuaxxx to all!

P/S: my mic was not behaving. otherwise, this should have been posted as an audio. *sigghhh…

This
is my all-time favourite though usually I’ll try my best to avoid to
watch the movie - can’t help but to shed a tear or two watching it,
espl the final scenes. The last song penned by Kannadasan and certainly
tops my list of best songs in the lifetime.

Movie: Moondram Pirai
Song: Kanne Kalaimaane

because of you

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

No, its nothing like what you are thinking. Its a movie title (Tamil = Unnale Unnale). A typical Karan Johar’s style romantic flick, with Melbourne as its backdrop. Mahen dislikes it, I think he hates it. Brother likes it. Sis and I think its exaggerated. You may want to read the movie review here, my post is going to be strictly on the characters involved.

Unnaleunnale05

Simply
put…The hero, Kartik, a carefree and supposely handsome guy who
receives alot of attention. The heroine, Jansi, a matured and serious
(they say over-reacting/over-sensitive) woman. And the second heroine,
Deepika (played by Kajol’s sister), basically a kiddo. So now, K &
J broke up because of their differences, and J went off to Melbourne. K
has no idea where she is, and of course doesn’t look like he is looking
for her. Fate sends K to Mel and he meets D in the plane. They become
frens and later K saw J in Mel & D is actually J’s colleague. K
tries to win J’s heart again, but ends up in D’s arm instead. And in
the end, J leaves Mel (again) for Sydney, thinking that D is the best
choice for K. Oh yea, and K marries D. J stays single in Sydney.

Assuming you are still sane with all these alphabets, don’t you think the whole story is pathetic? I mean.. for one,
no two living things are hundred percent alike in this world, save for
clones. Of course you gonna face messy fights and turmoil in
relationship. Fairytale relationship do not exist.

Two,
K is not a ‘totally’ innocent fella. Any girlfriend who is serious and
committed to the relationship would react the same way J did if her
boyfriend is caught cheating. What if J did what K did? Won’t K react
the same way? Jansi

Three,
why didn’t he look for her when she left India? Why he completely
forgot her and only ‘thought’ of all the sweet memories when he saw her
again? What if he never sees her? Will he stay single because he loves
her and only her (like he claims)?

Four,
why should J leaves all the time? *sigghhhhh..and why would they end
the story with V marrying D, but J stays single with some stupid
memories? why can’t they give some hope to people in same shoes like J?
hope that they will made somebody who thinks in the same wavelength
like them? :| Are they trying to say that if you don’t wanna
compromise, you will have to stay single and grow old in the home alone?

Its just a boring movie. But looking beyond the screen, I see an imbalance between the characters and an unfair treatment to J.

Verdict:
Kartik
(played by Vinay) is not THAT handsome. Certainly not my type :P The
only plus will be the songs, although they came too often disrupting
the story.
Watch only if you can digest the ending.

This song rekindles the sweet
memories I have. I mean ‘micham meethi’ memories. :P Beautiful lyrics.
It brings out the best out of simple / small incidences in our daily
life. Something we don’t usually appreciate, just like some of us who
don’t appreciate our significant other :)

Between,
Saturday will be our Tamil New Year. Did 2 wallpapers for the festival
- not so great, but I think it looks alrite there. :P Enjoy the song,
download the wallpapers and have a great weekend guys.

I have not forgiven anyone. Just in case, some of you guys are
wondering after seeing me participating in some forums. And of course I
cannot be forgiving anyone who has neither the guts nor the heart to
say sorry.

I had some people asking me, if I had a change of
heart. Not at all, especially when I have decided to live on without a
heart. I have endured enough, and now I am looking forward the New Year
with new meaning. Yea, sometimes I do wish I can turn back undo things
I have done; decision I have made; path I have taken. and yea, I do
miss the short joy I had. But at the same time I know its all illusion.
It was meant to be like that for what I have learnt from it.

I may or may not make sense here, but those who knows me well will understand.

Between, have you voted for Keshi? If not, please do so HERE.

Spend the weekend ‘touring’ 3 neighbouring states. phheww!! Dead tired when I got back on Sunday evening. Didn’t even had the time to upload the photos. Finally got some time yesterday to edit some photos out of about 120 photos. Nothing much to be said about the trip, as I think the photos says it all ;)

How was your weekend guys?
